French Ribbonwork Pieces for the weekend

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. Our cable was off all day..as of now it still isn't back on! It was off at 9 am this Sunday morning and as of (9:45) tonight it is still off!

Our neighbor was kind enough to call and offer us his cradle point portable wireless router! His cable is off too, but he has Internet access thru another means. Yea for our "McGiver" neighbor!
It has been so quiet, my husband and I have actually talked...rather than just answered each other's questions during commercials! LOL

Anyway, here is some of the things I finished this week!
Happy Monday

Black Lace and Red Rose Cuffs

Happy Saturday Morning!!

No, I have not gone over to the dark side, but I did make these black lace and red ribbonwork rose cuffs for Valentine's day. I thought these were a nice change from the pastel colors I usually do and they would be perfect if you were a Spanish dancer! LOL

Thanks for your visit!

Dana

Antique Ribbonwork

I ordered some antique stamens on etsy and was very pleasantly surprised to find the sweet seller had included some pieces of antique ribbonwork.

I wanted to share some pictures of my new goodies with you.I love to look at the back of these antique pieces.

Here are a couple of pictures of some of my new pieces too. The first is a finished piece, the second picture is of some items I made inspired by these antique pieces..just some experiments.

Thank everyone for their visits and kind comments, I am behind on my blog visits this week, but I am making the rounds and I appreciate each of your visits!!

Civil War Gown French Ribbonwork...FINISHED!!

I am finally finished with the civil war re enactment gown ribbonwork!

After I took the picture I realized it didn't look like the amount of work it really was! It is always hard to make matching pieces, all of the leaves and flowers have to be the same shape and size. I also had to dye bunches of ribbon for this job. There are approximately 40 yards of ribbon in this work.
There were 20 roses and lots of buds, filler flowers and hundreds of leaves!!

The two five inch round circles gown on the gown skirt, the four inch circle goes at the waist. The two large curved pieces go at the bottom of the bell shaped sleeves. The rest of the pieces go along the neckline and at the elbow and on the bonnet.

This has been a fun project and I will share pictures of the finished gown when I get them!

Have a wonderful day,
Dana
