French Ribbonwork Pieces for the weekend

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. Our cable was off all day..as of now it still isn't back on! It was off at 9 am this Sunday morning and as of (9:45) tonight it is still off!

Our neighbor was kind enough to call and offer us his cradle point portable wireless router! His cable is off too, but he has Internet access thru another means. Yea for our "McGiver" neighbor!
It has been so quiet, my husband and I have actually talked...rather than just answered each other's questions during commercials! LOL

Anyway, here is some of the things I finished this week!
Happy Monday
hugs,
Dana

French Ribbonwork Purple Wisterias and Pink Ribbon Roses

Hello everyone. Sometimes being a "people pleaser" pays off.
I often have customers ask me to make things and I never want to say no. I always tell them I will try. Then I beat myself up and fret and worry and wonder why I didn't just say no in the first place! LOL

But sometimes it pays off. I have a customer who wanted wisteria for a fairy costume. I have never made wisteria before and I have never even seen antique ribbonwork wisteria. After several days of worry I dove in, here is my wisteria. I was pretty pleased.
The above piece was just a little test piece.

I think the fairy wants a garland of wisteria. I will keep you updated!

Have a wonderful day!

Good Morning Friends

This is a lace necklace I am just starting. I am not sure if I should use all cream and whites for the flowers or if I should add very light pastel flowers.
What do you think?

Here are the finished ribbonwork pins I got finished today.

I have also learned a very important blogging lesson. Don't announce a post ahead of time! LOL

I had planned to finish up the southern recipes for this blog but I was making such good progress on the ribbon pieces I didn't want to interrupt it.

Do you sometimes get in a good place and everything goes smoothly? You know it is so rare you are afraid to stop working. LOL
Have a WONDERFUL Saturday!

Ribbonwork, Ribbon Dying and More Hand Dyed Ribbon

Good morning!
I am going to finish the Gone with the wind series but first I had to get caught up!

I always dye ribbon in small batches. I think it is because I have a short attention span! It does lead to extra work though. Sometimes I have a popular color series and I have to dye a new batch. That is what I did last night.

I had custom orders for items in the color of a cuff I have in my shop. Here one piece and I have several others in this color to get made.

This is how I store the finished ribbon. I roll it up and keep it by color in plastic bins.

Have a wonderful day!!!!!

Step by Step

Here is another floral bear halo. This is for the cousin of the first bear. Apparently bears are very jealous and like to keep up with the Joneses!

Here it is step by step.

Have a wonderful and blessed weekend

Sugar Plum Fairy Night Lights

I wasn't going to post tonight but I wanted to show you the night lights I am working on tonight. I have been thinking of doing these for sometime but never got around to it until now.

The "candy light" bulbs are sugared with German glass glitter.

I think they would be so sweet for a little girl.

I'm Back with some new.... well, old ribbonwork.

Thank you to everyone who wished me well with my recent bout with hives. I am ready to get back to work now. I plan to get a haz mat suit and take some pictures of the little creatures that caused such misery.

Here is a piece I did a while ago and just never got around to listing it in my shop. I covered a hat box with lace and fully intended to add ribbonwork flowers, but I just can't decide how I want to do it! So it has been pressed into service as a photo prop. I think the real reason I haven't finished it is because that would mean I would list it for sale ....and well, I kinda love it. LOL

I like to see the way pieces can look very different by just turning them upside down.
Do you feel compelled to list everything you make for sale, or do you keep your favorite pieces?
Here is the same hatbox with a different piece of ribbonwork.
